Soar: a short film on the strength of the human spirit.
A film production company out of Oregon USA Still motion have created this beautifully put together short documentary about a Melbournian quadriplegic man Dave Jacka. While probably fitting into what the recently deceased disability advocate and activist Stella Young would call the inspiration porn category, it is none the less an excellent piece of filmmaking.
The story centres on Dave Jacka's determination to achieve some level of independence; whether this is trying to get himself into bed from his wheelchair, or by flying a plane, Dave is excellent in breaking down the process for which he is able to achieve his goals.
