The steps to a successful viral campaign: Gorgan and his auto shop
Something hilarious that I have stumbled across from our brothers across the sea in Burbank California.
The below video was made by American comedy film making duo Rhett and Link. Apparently when they came across Gorgan an Iranian Armenian American auto shop owner, they offered to make Gorgan's commercial dreams come true and offer their services for free to make a commercial that is so hilarious that it commands repeated viewing.
The video has gone on to become viral for the little auto shop in Burbank. The lessons here I guess is that the subject matter doesn't take himself to seriously and isn't afraid to put himself out there in an obvious lampooning way. It also helps that Gorgan has recorded his own Persian music before, which the film makers have made use here.
To their credit the film makers here have employed every dodgy effect with comedic purpose. For instance throughout the clip is peppered techniques often used in productions that would be seen as low budget quality. For instance the use of crash zooms, awkward use of green screens and even overtly sexualised undertones. But used here it has obviously lead to viral gold!.
